About Us

The North East Scotland Police Welfare Fund (NESPWF) was formed in July 2014, initially with funds donated from the former Grampian Police Welfare Fund, which folded when Grampian Police became Police Scotland on 1 April 2013. The Fund is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation or SCIO, Scottish Charity SC044963, registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).

The Charity received additional funds in June 2015 when the Diced Cap Charity was wound up.

In May 2016 the charity received revenue income from the George Russel Trust and in August that Trust was dissolved and NESPWF received a further large donation.

In July 2018, the charity received a donation following the winding-up of the former Grampian Police Sports and Recreation Club.

The NESPWF is administered by a Management Board of Trustees.

The NESPWF is closely linked to, yet independent of the North East Branch of the Retired Police Officers’ Association Scotland, www.rpoasnortheast.co.uk.
