At many funerals there is a collection for a charity which has been nominated by, or has been of particular assistance to the deceased. This has been the case at a number of police family funeral services recently and the NESPWF has donated the sum of £25 to each charity via the surviving families.
Successful Charity Nominations
At the NESPWF Management Committee Meeting on 16 November 2017, a total of 13 charity nominations were considered and it was decided to donate £250 each to the following charities, all of which had been of assistance to NESPWF members or their families.
Kidney Cancer Scotland
UCAN (Urological Cancer Charity)
Maggie’s Centre Aberdeen
GASTROCAN (Gastroesophageal cancer)
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
Back Up (Spinal cord injury charity)
Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination. Those whose nominated charity was not chosen on this occasion are encouraged to nominate again in 2018 when it is planned to repeat the exercise.
